Altercation in grocery checkout lane leads to felony charge

A 53-year-old Florida man received a felony battery charge for punching a 58-year-old man in a grocery store lane on Dec. 1. As a result of the altercation, the alleged victim was knocked unconscious and put into a coma. The accused man's felony charge could potentially be upgraded if the victim's condition becomes worse.

Out-of-state driving violations follow Florida residents home

Florida residents may not realize that when they receive a ticket in another state for speeding or any other traffic violation, that ticket follows them home. Authorities from the state that issued the citation will forward the ticket information to Florida, and it will be added to the person's driving record.

Fort Lauderdale man arrested for DUI on Thanksgiving

According to law enforcement authorities with the Boca Raton Police Department, a 35-year-old man from Fort Lauderdale was stopped and arrested on Nov. 27 for allegedly driving under the influence. The man reportedly was arrested at around 3:55 a.m. and was booked into jail at 4 a.m.
