Florida man arrested, accused of grand theft

Being accused of theft or robbery can lead to serious consequences, including damage to one's reputation. Some people accused of theft are arrested for stealing cars or other property. As one case in Florida recently showed, in the eyes of the law, stealing property, no matter how strange or unusual, can lead to serious legal issues.

A man was accused of stealing a woman's driveway recently. She apparently came home early one evening and noticed that pulling into her driveway felt bumpier than usual. She then allegedly noticed that the driveway's pavers were missing.

Police say that witnesses told them that two men were seen digging up the driveway earlier that day. Somehow, police caught up with one of the men, who was also accused of stealing fence posts from a different home.

He is reportedly facing two counts of grand theft, as well as two counts of dealing in stolen property. In another twist, the man says that when he was arrested, the officers threatened to shoot him.

While the entire situation is unusual, this incident shows that being accused of stealing property - whether it's jewelry or someone's driveway - can lead to serious repercussions. This man initially saw bond posted at $14,000, although it was later reduced by almost half.

Still, someone in his situation would benefit from contacting a criminal defense attorney, particularly one experienced in cases ranging from shoplifting to grand theft, to ensure that his or her rights are protected during the legal process.
